Meet Dr. Carolyn Coppe

Dr. Carolyn Coppe knew she wanted to be a dentist since she was a small child. "I grew up in this very office and was always aware of how happy everyone who worked here was. It was an easy decision to make."

Early Life in Lexington

The town of Lexington has been home to Dr. Carolyn since she was eight months old, and she attended both Hastings and Bridge Elementary schools before graduating from Lexington High School.

Growing up, Dr. Carolyn was a member of the Hayden Precision Skating Team and still proudly wears the label of "Haydenette."

Like her father, Dr. Carolyn enjoys sailing and recalls attending and the reenactments on Patriots' Day.

Education & Research

Dr. Carolyn completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of California, San Francisco in 2008, after graduating from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Carolyn accepted a research position at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research in Bethesda, Maryland. There, she developed an interest in working on dental stem cells from primary (baby) teeth, and she continued this research during her residency at UCSF.

Eventually, she completed her master's thesis on this very topic and was awarded the prestigious Ralph E McDonald Award at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Annual Meeting in 2008. This highly coveted award is given to the resident with the best overall research manuscript and presentation.

Pediatric Dentistry Specialization

In 2011, Dr. Carolyn passed the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry examinations. The Mission of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is to verify to the public and to the health professions that a pediatric dentist has completed an advanced educational program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. This includes a voluntary examination process designed to validate the knowledge, application, and performance required to deliver exceptional care in pediatric dentistry.

Outside of the Office

Dr. Carolyn met her husband, Zach Peacock, at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and they continued their training together at the University of California, San Francisco.

Zach is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Carolyn and her husband are living in Lexington with their sons, Gregory Harper and Trent Stanley.
